Matt Nagy all but confirms Bears’ starters won’t play against the Colts

The third preseason game used to serve as a “dress rehearsal” for starting players in the NFL. But with Matt Nagy at the helm, that’s no longer the case in Chicago.

Following the same plan Nagy has maintained all preseason and duplicating the blueprint from last season’s third preseason game, the Bears coach essentially confirmed all starters on offense and defense will not see the field when the team takes on the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday evening. “I don’t think that’s a secret to anybody,” he said.

To help the starters get some extra work, however, Nagy put them through extra conditioning tests to ensure they’re still receiving the necessary reps while sitting out of the preseason games.

Fans can expect a similar starting lineup from last week’s game against the New York Giants.
