Matt McQuaid playing well at Pro Basketball Combine

Matt McQuaid was given the opportunity to show off his game at the Professional Basketball Combine, and he has capitalized on that opportunity thus far. The official Pro Basketball Combine Twitter posted this afternoon that McQuaid had 15 points and 5 assists in session one of the combine’s five on five play.

The Pro Basketball Combine takes place at the Mamba Sports Academy in California for two days and features 24 players who weren’t invited to the NBA’s official draft combine. McQuaid is one of the better-known players at this year’s PBC. Ironically, one of the other most heralded players at the event is Kerry Blackshear Jr. out of Virginia Tech, who is currently being targeted by Tom Izzo and Michigan State as a grad transfer target. The situation with Blackshear’s recruitment is currently ‘up in the air.’

For what it’s worth, I do believe in Matt McQuaid as an NBA prospect. It might take him a few years, but I think we will see him in the NBA eventually. He can defend, he’s smart, he can shoot the lights out, and he can handle the ball. I think he’ll get there someday.
