Matt Lucas mocks Boris Johnson's speech with scathing imitation that goes viral

Matt Lucas has taken aim at Boris Johnson with a video dig at his controversial statement to the nation.

The Prime MInister addressed millions of viewers on Sunday night with a 10 minute speech that confirmed the scrapping of the Government's 'Stay at Home' message and the replacement of it with a new one - 'Stay Alert'.

As well as presenters like Piers Morgan and Phillip Schofield slating the PM in on-air rants, Little Britain star Matt has had a dig at Johnson and his confusing statement in a video that has now gone viral after being shared tens of thousands of times on social media.

In the video, which he shared on Twitter, Matt mumbled: "So we are saying don’t go to work, go to work, don’t take public transport, go to work, don’t go to work, stay indoors.

“If you can work from home go to work, don’t go to work, go outside, don’t go outside, and then we will or won’t… something or other.”

One of Matt's followers, former EastEnders actress Tracey-Ann Oberman responded: "Brilliant except yours is easier to understand," and another fan reacted: "So in 18 seconds you accurately summed up what it took Boris to waffle in 10 minutes."

Matt himself has been doing his bit for the NHS during lockdown with the release of his charity single 'Thank You Baked Potato'.
