Matt LeBlanc has just become everyone's favourite uncle thanks to his relatable appearance on the Friends reunion

Twitter was flooded with love after the much-anticipated Friends: The Reunion brought Chandler, Joey, Monica, Phoebe, Rachel and Ross back together for the first time in 17 years.

The stars of the adored American sitcom which ran for 10 years and ended in 2004 were movingly reunited on the famous set for a quiz, table reads, special guest appearances and an interview with James Corden.

And social media was crushing hard on Matt LeBlanc who played charmer Joey Tribbiani.

Fans couldn't get over just how relatable Matt was on the Sky One special, with many remarking that the 53-year-old New York actor reminded them of a favourite uncle.

As the affectionate Tweets came pouring in one viewer said: "Matt LeBlanc sits like a bloke that is at his niece's birthday while the cup final is on."

"Matt LeBlanc looking like he won the raffle at the quiz and he's after sending the grand-niece up with the ticket to collect the prize," tweeted another.

"Matt LeBlanc looking like your dad's mate from the pub listening to a great story of him from his younger days," another commented.

The love for Matt spread like wildfire in Ireland where they 'adopted' the star with one fan observing comically: "Matt LeBlanc tearfully: 'But I’m an Actor! I live in Los Angeles!

"The People of Ireland: 'No. Your name is Paudie. You live in Roscommon. You love Pints and GAA and you’re everyone’s uncle now.'"

"Irish Twitter has just adopted Matt LeBlanc for giving off every Irish uncle energy," said another.

And another said: "Never has a childhood of growing up in rural Ireland better prepared me for something more than it’s prepared me for this Matt LeBlanc being your uncle meme."

Another Friends fan admired: "Matt LeBlanc looks like the dad on Christmas that is happy to see you open your gifts even though he doesn’t know what any of them are cos your mum got them all."

"Matt LeBlanc sits like my da whenever he's forced to go to my auntie's gaff," chuckled another.

And another fan mused: "I know everyone’s talking about it but I wasn’t emotionally prepared for the Friends Reunion.

"I started crying about two minutes in also I did not realise it was possible to be more in love with Matt LeBlanc."

After Friends Matt starred in the spin-off series Joey and he played a satirical version of himself in the sitcom Episodes from 2011 to 2017 for which he won a Golden Globe Award and received four Emmy Award nominations.

He co-hosted Top Gear from 2016 to 2019 and from 2016 to 2020 he played patriarch Adam Burns in the CBS sitcom Man with a Plan.
