Matt LaFleur is still giving Packers fans a reason to worry about his decision making

The Green Bay Packers just spent an entire offseason hearing about how a cowardly decision to kick a field goal ended their chance at a Super Bowl berth. It was unavoidable for Packers head coach Matt LaFleur (and Aaron Rodgers), but you’d think that a dramatic offseason would have LaFleur learning from his mistakes.

Think again.

The Packers and Bengals went into overtime in Sunday’s Week 5 matchup, and it was plainly obvious that kicker Mason Crosby wasn’t on his game. He missed two field goals and an extra point in regulation. But when the Packers picked off Joe Burrow on the opening drive of overtime, LaFleur’s plan was stunning.

He wanted to play for the field goal before it was even needed.
