Matt Kuchar and Sergio Garcia clear up their beef in awkward video

Matt Kuchar and Sergio Garcia had an awkward moment in their quarterfinal match at the WGC Match Play tournament on Saturday when Sergio lost a hole because he lost his mind for a second.

On Monday, the two shared another awkward moment when they met up at Austin Country Club, the site of the tournament, and shot a video in which they attempted to bury their beef and clear the air.

It was awkward for a number of reasons. First, Kuchar sticks to his brand of being the vanilla “aw shucks” guy and tries to play it all off like it was no big deal. He even says at the end that there should be “no shade” thrown Sergio’s way.

But the two didn’t really make a lot of sense in it, either. Kuchar first says that after the incident happened Sergio presented “an option or two on how to play it out,” or make things right, but Kuchar doesn’t share those ways, which would have been nice.

Sergio then awkwardly explains that Kuchar “unfortunately didn’t know how to make up for what happened… but it’s all good. We’re all good.”

Kuchar, of course, had that embarrassing issue pop up earlier this year when he grossly underpaid a caddie after winning over a million bucks and then defended his actions before finally paying the guy what he deserved.

So the two would love to put more controversy behind them.

But let’s get back to that video, though. Golf fans on Twitter agreed that this whole thing felt forced and awkward:
