Matt Hancock spotted leaving celebrity jungle by helicopter after winning challenge

Matt Hancock, Sue Cleaver and Jill Scott escaped the I'm A Celebrity jungle - after they won a day on the beach. The celebs won balls which gave them chances to win a place on the day trip.

And ahead of tonight's show, Thursday, November 17, a trio of winners were photographed having fun in the sun. MP Mr Hancock took the role of chef alongside Corrie actor Sue and Euro-winning footballer Jill, reports the Mirror.

This meant Owen Warner has missed out on Surf and Turf on the beach - despite his fellow contestants trying to help him win a place by putting his name on extra balls which were drawn out. Ahead of the trip in the Bush Telegraph, Mike Tindall admitted: "On a beach, BBQ, surf and turf… sounds absolutely amazing."

Chris Moyles admitted: "I should go, ‘Look guys, even if I win, I’ll give it to someone else’, but I won’t." Sue had chosen to put Owen's ball in the draw ahead of her own, but still managed to win the prize.

The three contestants were taken by helicopter away from the jungle. The trio's outing away from the camp came as former I'm A Celebrity star Jake Quickenden explained how tensions will be rising in the jungle due to being stuck in the same place.

Writing in his latest column for the Mirror, Jake recalled his own experience on the show back in 2014 as he pointed out how "week 2 becomes a lot harder, as a lack of food and sleep, alongside missing loved ones, starts to take its toll." The former X Factor star explained how celebrity campers start to long for a trial just to get out of camp for a few hours.

"So far Mr Hancock has done a good job in bringing home stars so I’m glad that the public have decided to let someone else have a go at the Bushtucker Trials," Jake wrote, as it was revealed Chris had been chosen to tackle a trial on his own. He added: "I think the campmates will be getting annoyed about the fact Mr Hancock is getting all the airtime, you see some little digs when he’s voted, and some people are seeming to pretend they are happy they haven’t been voted for it.

"But it can get so boring at times that you can be begging for a trial just so you can have a change of scenery." Jake went on to back Boy George being the one to instigate some camp clashes before this week comes to an end.

"I predict some arguments taking place over the next few days, especially between Boy George and anyone who gets on his wrong side," the former I'm A Celebrity star mused on Tuesday. The dad-of-one added: "It can be very awkward in camp when people argue and you often need a mediator, which in this case I think will be Seann [Walsh].

"He’s a funny guy who seems kind of chilled, but he came in with Mr Hancock so I can see him having his back." *Watch I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! 2022 tonight, Thursday 17 November at 9pm on ITV.
