Matt Hancock reveals secret friendship with Dancing on Ice star - leaving fans stunned

Matt Hancock has revealed he's pals with a Dancing On Ice star after rocking up on the show on Sunday.

The I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! finalist, 44, told fans he's friends with The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran, 34 - in news which stunned his followers.

Sharing a snap of himself and the singer in the ITV studio on Instagram, Mr Hancock referenced the band's hit song, gushing: "I'm Glad I Came!

"Great to catch up with my friend @sivaofficial at @dancingonice

"Another incredible performance."

The photo didn't go down well with fans, with many criticising the disgraced MP for going on the programme.

"No-one else cares you came," quipped one viewer while another fumed: "Do your real job or resign."

However, some were pleased to see the MP pop up on the show as one fan asked the father-of-three if he would consider getting his skates on next year.

Mr Hancock hinted he would think about going on the programme when he was interviewed by host Holly Willoughby, sitting in the front row of the studio - with his partner Gina Coalangelo.

Holly asked: "What sort of song would have to be played to get you going?"

The MP, who came in third place after a controversial stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here at the end of last year, replied: "I dance to almost anything.

"It's more enthusiasm than talent though. A bit of Queen Don't Stop Me Now." Holly then put to him: "Would you pop on a sequin?" And he replied: "l could do with dressing up a bit." He added: "Eating cockroaches is nothing compared to how difficult this is."

After a few polite giggles from the audience, fans took to Twitter in their droves, slamming the MP for going on the show.

One viewer wrote: "Get Hancock out of there and keep him out of the sequins, I don’t want to see him fumble on the ice, #dancingonice why are itv trying to make him acceptable on reality TV????"

While another said: "Cba with Matt Hancock trying to be a regular ITV celeb sitting in the audience of #dancingonice and being interviewed. Gross."

The politician caused outrage after being paid a staggering £320,000 for his appearance on the I'm A Celebrity series while still a sitting MP for West Suffolk.

Following Mr Hancock declaring the £320,000 fee, the Mirror can now reveal how much of the pay cheque has been donated to charitable and good causes.

A spokesperson for the MP told us: "As well as raising the profile of his dyslexia campaign in front of 11-million viewers, Matt's donated £10,000 to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and the British Dyslexia Association, off the back of his appearance on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here'."
