Matt Hancock pictured on romantic Swiss Alps getaway with lover Gina Coladangelo

Matt Hancock and his lover Gina Coladangelo have been photographed enjoying their first holiday away as a couple as they jetted off to the Swiss Alps.

The ex-Health Secretary and his former adviser have opted to stay in a budget £87-a-night mountain hideaway in the resort of Villars-sur-Ollon.

They arrived at the retreat close to Geneva on Tuesday, the Daily Express reports.

Married dad-of-three Mr Hancock resigned from his ministerial post after his scandalous relationship with his former adviser was exposed.

Mr Hancock has tried to keep a low profile since the scandal broke but he was spotted bodyboarding in Cornwall on a holiday last month.

Dressed in his swimming shorts, a shirt and Crocs, he was seen last month obligingly granting requests for selfies from other holidaymakers.

He was also pictured rock-pooling with his children at the beach back in August, where he splashed around in the surf.

The 42-year-old MP and Ms Coladangelo, 44, who also has three children with entrepreneur husband Oliver Tress, drove the 550 miles to the Alps in order to remain as low key as possible.

It is thought Mr Hancock, who moved out of his marital home in June, will also be using the holiday to do some further training for the London Marathon on October 3.

He is running it for the first time to raise money for the Bury St Edmunds-based St Nicholas Hospice Care.

The couple have been spotted sightseeing and enjoying hearty continental breakfasts during their romantic break.

They were also been seen having dinner with friends on Tuesday, with Mr Hancock donning a blue baseball cap, white shirt, chinos and trainers.

And Ms Coladangelo wore a dark blue dress, denim jacket and sandals.

On Wednesday morning, the politician and his former aide were seen loading bags into the boot of their car.

The two-star lodge sits on a sunny south-facing terrace high above the Rhone valley and is close to stunning Lake Geneva and overlooked by snow-capped peaks.

The pair had been caught on CCTV kissing in Mr Hancock's office in the Department of Health on May 6, with the footage published 10 days later.

At the time Mr Hancock was ordering Brits to observe social distancing guidance, including being "careful" when hugging people outside, despite their “yearning” for physical contact.

Despite being publicly backed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Mr Hancock resigned 48 hours later and said he wished to remain out of the spotlight for the sake of his children and wife Martha.

Mr Hancock's resignation sparked a Cabinet reshuffle, with Sajid Javid replacing him as Health Secretary.
