Matt Hancock has said he will be happy to publicly vaccinated alongside Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.
The health secretary was speaking on the ITV morning show about the news of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine being approved for use in the UK.
A rollout of the vaccine is expected to start next week with NHS staff, care home staff and those 85+ first in line to get it.
However, some are concerned about the safety of the vaccine due to the short turnaround in its creation, despite government officials saying it's safe.
Earlier in the show, Piers Morgan said he would more than happily take it if he was allowed to and if it would ease the minds of those who were worried about the safety of it.
Piers later quizzed Hancock on how the government is going to get through to those cautious minds:
"We would happily take this if it could get the message over, I'd take it live on-air.
"I don't care, I just feel like it's important if we're going to get through this that enough people take it."
The health secretary then said: "Yeah, I'll take it with you, Piers!"
Stunned, Piers said: "You know what, let's do this, actually I'm serious!
"I'll come to where you are any time next week if we can do this, and let's do it together, live on-air, it would be powerful!"
Hancock reiterated he would be more than happy to star alongside Piers in taking the virus, if they were both approved to take it: "We'd have to get that approved because, of course, there's a prioritisation according to clinical need.
"And thankfully, as a healthy middle-aged man, you're (Piers) not at the top of the prioritisation, but if we can get that approved and if people think that is reasonable, then I'm up for doing that.
"Once the MRHA has approved a vaccine, they only do that if it's safe, so if that can help anybody else, to persuade anybody else to take the vaccine, that they should take the vaccine, I think it's worth it."
