Matt Hancock heckled on GMB as Health Secretary appears live from London

Health Secretary Matt Hancock suffered a rather awkward moment after he was heckled live on air while appearing on Good Morning Britain.

After coming out of self-isolation from battling coronavirus, Matt spoke to GMB hosts Ben Shepherd and Ranvir Singh about what it was like to actually get COVID-19.

And, just as he was explaining how his family had dealt with him having coronavirus, the Health Secretary interrupted to say: "I'm very sorry, I'm slightly distracted...I'm slightly distracted by somebody who's shouting very nice things."

"I apologise, I didn't catch all of that question."

He then quipped: "They shouted 'Matt Hancock is great' which has never happened to be before!"

Host Ben then joked: "Have you taken your family there? Maybe it was one of your family members," to which Matt replied: "Yep, that' right...thanks mum!"

Getting back to serious matters, Matt then answered a question from Ben on the pressing needs for PPE in care homes, who said that so far the Government response had been "a little bit vague."

The Health Secretary responded: "We have had a delivery out to every care setting but then people use it up. That is something that is constantly going on and it's something I'm going to go and work on today."
