Matt Hancock covered in bugs and slime in teaser clip ahead of his I'm A Celeb arrival tonight

Matt Hancock can be seen drenched in slime, gunk and bugs in a brand new teaser clip ahead of his I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! arrival in tonight's (Nov 9) episode. In the clip, the former Health Secretary, who leaded the way during the coronavirus pandemic, crawls through a dark bug infested hole in his, likely to be first of many, Bushtucker Trial.

The politician is joined by fellow latecomer comedian Seann Walsh as they take part in The Beastly Burrows challenge in a bid to win stars for their new campmates. Presenters Ant and Dec struggle to hold back their amusement as Mr Hancock squirms his way through.

The whole trial will be aired in tonight's episode as the public get to see the disgraced MP entering the Australian jungle for the first time. The news of his appearance on the show spark outrage in many, including members of the public and parliament.

Prior to going on the ITV show, Mr Hancock said viewers would "see the real me". Despite the controversy around him signing up the 44-year-old felt he had a chance of winning and said being crowned king would be the "icing on the cake".

In an interview he said his phobias include "snakes", adding: "I don't thankfully suffer from claustrophobia - or I think I don't." The Mirror reports. "Lots of people have a view on me from being health secretary in the pandemic dealing with some very difficult issues.

"But that's not the whole story. I am looking forward to throwing myself into it all like I do everything in life. You can't hide anything in the jungle, you see somebody warts and all."

You can see the full trial on I'm A Celebrity tonight at 9pm.
