Matt Damon in Dublin: Dubliner seeking Damon puts up hilarious posters offering reward to meet Contagion star

Matt Damon being stuck in Dalkey because of the coronavirus has been one of the most gripping stories of 2020 (apart from the actual outbreak itself).

The Contagion star has given plenty for locals to talk about from being spotted taking a dip in Dalkey with his swimming gear in a SuperValu bag to an awkward encounter with a resident that left her red in the face, Dublin Live reports.

One Dubliner desperately Hunting for Damon has gone above and beyond by offering a whopping €1,000 worth of concert tickets in exchange to meet the Hollywood superstar.

Founder of local rock music station, The Rock, and Dun Laoghaire resident Lloyd Barber has put posters all over Dalkey with hilarious instructions on how to approach the American actor should anyone run into him.

The poster reads: “We are offering a substantial reward of €1,000 worth of amazing VIP concert tickets (plus meet and greets) for this summer (or next) here in Dublin for information that can connect us for an interview with US actor Mr Matt Damon recently spotted in Dalkey.

“If you spot Matt- approach with caution as he is lethal with a newspaper and a can of hairspray, has a smile that can take an eye out and would much prefer to blow up Nazis than spend a weekend stuck at home on the farm with the folks.

“Should any kind citizen be able to help, please pass on our details: Content Editor: James O’Connor, email: info@therockdublin.com, mobile:0872989806.

The amusing poster then goes on to say: “Matt, if you stumble across this, we would love to chat with you about your time here in Dublin, your forthcoming movie ‘The Last Duel’, but more importantly, how our humble spuds compare to those from Mars!!!”

Lloyd, who launched his rock station last summer and has interviewed big names like AC/DC, Def Leppard, Thin Lizzy, and many more, hopes to "add an actor of Matt's calibre to the list".

Damon was due to film a new Ridley Scott directed flick, The Last Duel in the city this month.

But the movie has been put on "indefinite hiatus" due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

It is unclear when shooting will resume as the nation remains under lockdown until at least Tuesday, May 5.

The screenplay for the historical epic was written by Damon, close pal  Ben Affleck  and Nicole Holofcener and is based on a book by Eric Jager.

The film also stars Jodie Comer and Adam Driver and focuses on a dispute between a knight and squire in Medieval France.
