Matt Baker delights Our Farm in the Dales fans as it lands prime time slot once again

Matt Baker gave his ever growing number of Instagram followers cause for excitement with the news that Our Farm in the Dales had been picked up by Channel 4 for a prime time TV slot.

The show, which is all about Matt and his family's return to the Countryfile star's native County Durham, after mum Janice was seriously injured in a farming accident, proved to be an instant hit with More4 viewers when it made its debut in March last year.

Series one saw Matt, wife Nicola and the couple's two children Molly and Luke help his dad Mike with the day to day running of the family's farm, as well as securing its future.

After being met with an extremely positive reaction as soon as it launched on More4, Matt was excited to tell viewers it was making the transition to Channel 4, where it would be repeated on Saturday nights.

And now the exact same thing has happened to series two, which initially premiered on More4 in the autumn.

Breaking the news of its promotion to Channel 4 for a second run, former Blue Peter and One Show presenter Matt took to Instagram write: "Hi all - the second series of Our Farm In The Dales is repeated on CH4 tonight at 7.3O! if you fancy a watch - Be lovely to have your company

Lambing -building - car restoration - baking all the usual random stuff we get up to on our hill. Hope you can join us."

Among the stars to react to Matt's post were Ben Fogle, who reacted with a hands in the air emoji and H from Steps who commented: "WHOOP!"

A fan replied: "Prime time it is Matt! So deserving. You’re all my comfort blanket," with another equally excited follower telling the former gymnast: "Prime time, well deserved. Will be lovely and relaxing to see it again, Saturday evening sorted."
