Matildas icon Mary Fowler is sprinting off the football field for the catwalk at this year’s Paris Fashion Week, by making her runway debut at the L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé show!!
Yep, that’s right! While our golden striker/midfielder has been making waves in the stadiums, Fowler is set to make history by becoming the first professional footballer to be boots on the ground (or should we say, boots on the catwalk) for L’Oréal’s Paris Fashion Week show, slated for September 29.
Fowler is set to strut her stuff at Hotel de Ville de Paris alongside fellow global L’Oréal Paris ambassadors, such as Kendall Jenner, Jane Fonda, Gillian Anderson, Ariana Greenblatt, Viola Davis, Eva Longoria, Helen Mirren, Andie MacDowell, and more!
Reflecting on this historic move, the goal-scoring diva admitted it was “outside of my comfort zone”, but the opportunity to celebrate women’s empowerment wasn’t something to be missed.
“This will be my first time walking a runway, and while it’s a little outside of my comfort zone, the opportunity to walk alongside extraordinary women in a celebration of women’s empowerment, inclusion, and sisterhood is truly inspiring,” Fowler said ahead of her runway debut.
Not only is Fowler the first pro-footballer to grace the Paris Fashion Week runway, but she will also be the first Australian brand ambassador to walk the walk.
For those who want to watch this diva sprint down the runway, the L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé show will be available to watch on L’Oréal Paris’ Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, their website and Roblox on Monday29 September at 9.15 pm CET (5.15am AEST).
Paris Fashion Week 2025 will officially kick off on September 29 (the same day as Fowler’s debut) and will end on October 7.
