Matildas' incredible Kerr scores four in electrifying 5-4 comeback win for Sky Blue

Matildas' star forward Sam Kerr has created more history in electrifying fashion, scoring a sensational four goals to help her National Women's Soccer League side to an incredible come-from-behind win.

Down 3-0 at half-time, New Jersey side Sky Blue FC looked down and out for the count against Seattle Reign.

But Kerr was in the mood for epic feats, stabbing home for Sky Blue's opener two minutes into the second half, in a somewhat fortunate goal to get things rolling.

But there was nothing lucky about what followed.

Latching onto a long-ball, Kerr dribbled into the box before lashing a finish across the keeper to cap off an effective counter-attack.

From 3-0 down, it was 3-3 in the 71st minute as Kerr scored the best goal of the night, side-footing a glorious curled effort from outside the box, into the top corner.

Seattle retook the lead with just five minutes to go, only for Sky Blue to equalise again in the first minute of stoppage time.

And still, Kerr was far from done.

With barely seconds remaining, Kerr leapt highest to nod home from a corner, sparking scenes of delirium in the Sky Blue camp.

Mobbed by team-mates as Seattle's players looked on dejectedly, Kerr was forced to the ground as Sky Blue players piled on in jubilant and scarcely believable scenes.

The incredible foursome of goals will do Kerr's cause no harm at all as she bids to win The Best FIFA Women's Player 2017 award.

Kerr is likely to feature for the Matildas in their friendlies against Brazil in Penrith and Newcastle in September.
