Matilda's Bruce Bogtrotter is now unrecognisable 25 years after film release

Matilda's Bruce Bogtrotter is all grown up - and fans are struggling to recognise him now.

Although it's been 25 years since Matilda was released, fans will no doubt remember the iconic cake-eating scene.

In the film based on Roald Dahl's novel, headmistress Ms. Trunchbull forces Jimmy Karz's character, Bruce Bogtrotter, to eat an huge chocolate cake in front of the entire school after he stole a slice from her.

You can all probably remember the moment vividly - Bruce visibly struggling to eat the enormous cake, the chocolate smeared around his face, and the chanting and cheering from the children before he concludes the challenge with an almighty burp.

But these days, the cake-eating champ looks a little different.

The now 36-year-old actor from California has been doing the rounds on social media - and fans can't believe their eyes.

The role led to him taking a part in The Wedding Singer in 1998, where he was seen squeezing Drew Barrymore's bum as they shared a dance together at a bar mitzvah.

Shortly afterward, Jimmy left his acting career behind to focus on his education.

Mara Wilson, who played Matilda, also chose to step away from acting.

Speaking in a TV interview with Today Extra, Mara opened up about the pressure of fame from a young age.

She said: "It hurt to hear adult critics saying things against me. It felt very unfair and very hard. There was really a lot of pressure on me, I felt, from the outside world."

What other child stars do you think look completely different now that they're all grown up? Let us know in the comments.
