AGRA: A local court in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district on Saturday sentenced five people to life imprisonment for killing an aged man over seven years ago.
Additional district government council Raju Singh said that the court of additional district and sessions judge, Mathura, Harendra Prasad also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the convicts Rakesh Ranga, Mukesh Billa, Kamesh Cheeni, Pradeep Gullula, and Neeraj. They had allegedly shot a 60-year-old man, Tole baba, dead while he was coming to Mathura for hearing in a court case on Feb 28, 2015. All the accused were booked under Indian Penal Code section 302 (murder) at Kotwali police station.
Weapons which were used for the crime were also recovered from their possession. Seven witnesses were produced in the case and the post mortem report also revealed the cause of death due to gunshot.
