A maths expert has shared a fraction trick which 99 per cent of people do not know - and it is guaranteed to make your life easier.
@PinkPencilMath, a mechanical engineer, explains it best in her TikTok video.
As reported on Birmingham Live, the hack helps with percentages - but Pink Pencil also correctly points out it can be used in everyday life, from finances to bills.
She said: "99 per cent of people do not know this math secret.
"It can be used in every situation, so after this video, you can use it for the rest of your life.
"Let's check it out..."
The video then cuts to a blank sheet of paper, before Pink Pencil begins to write.
She asks TikTok viewers: "So what if I said to you to find 16 per cent of 50? Well, you would most likely need a calculator.
"But what if I said to you that fractions can be reversed?"
So if you're looking for 16 per cent of 50 you can do 50 per cent of 16 which equals eight.
Pink Pencil explains a bit better, saying: "So 16 per cent of 50 is equal to 50 per cent of 16. And half of 16 is 8. So 16 per cent of 50 is equal to eight."
She adds: "Mind. Blown."
