Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Almeria's Mathieu Peybernes and it is claimed that a good relationship between the clubs will help seal the deal.
Spanish national newspaper Marca are reporting that the Reds are at the front of a queue to sign the 29 year-old Frenchman.
Forest have had previous dealings with Almeria, selling Arvin Appiah to the club for £8 million last summer.
Now that deal could help the Reds beat Championship rivals Swansea City to the signing of the France Under-21 international.
He should be available for a relatively modest fee, with the former Lorient man spending last season out on loan at Spanish second tier side Lugo where he made 30 appearances last season.
Peybernes is out of contract at the end of the 2021-22 campaign and his time at Almeria could potentially come to and end without making a single appearance for Jose Gomes' side.
So what do we know about Peybernes?
Peybernes is a right-sided centre-back by trade.

Born in Toulouse, he turns 30 in October and counts Sochaux, Bastia, Lorient, Goztepe, Eupen, Sporting Gijon and Lugo as his former clubs.
The defender was capped by his national side at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level.
During his youth career he spent time at INF Castelmaurou one of the French national team's academies.
Speculation surrounding Peybernes could be mounting as a result of rumours doing the rounds about the future of Joe Worrall.
Worrall is reportedly wanted by Burnley and Sheffield United.
If the boyhood Reds fan were to depart the City Ground this summer, it would leave Sabri Lamouchi with only Tobias Figueiredo, Michael Dawson and new signing Tyler Blackett as his defensive options.
That is assuming Yohan Benalouane and Michael Hefele, who made one appearance in the Championship between them last season, are still out of the picture.
Little is known about Peybernes, but given Forest's success in the foreign market last season - and the face Lamouchi both speak French natively - it might be one to watch.
Peybernes is keen on a move to England too.

"The French have always had a notable connection with England," he said.
"Playing there, for many French footballers, like for me, is a dream.
"Along with La Liga, the Premier League is one of the best competitions in the world and as a competitive professional you always want to test yourself in the best competitions.
"If the opportunity to go play in England presents itself then I would be interested."
