Mathias Kvistgaarden breaks silence on Celtic transfer talk in 'huge club' admission

Celtic target Mathias Kvistgaarden has broken his silence on interest from the Hoops and admitted the Scottish champions are a huge club.

But he insists he won't sulk after a potential move collapsed.

The Brondby striker was reportedly the subject of a £4.1 million bid from Celtic last week before the transfer window closed, but the Danish club wouldn't budge on their £6 million valuation for the 21-year-old who was under contract for another four years at his club.

Kvistgaarden showed no sign of a hangover of the deal not going through as he netted for Brondby in their 3-1 weekend win over Randers FC.

And he was quizzed about how close he came to moving to Celtic after the game.

He said: "There is no doubt that Celtic are, of course, a huge club.

"But I left the transfer side of it up to other people than myself.

"I was only concentrating on showing up for training every day, being on time and doing my things here at the club.

"So I let others do the negotiations and deal with everything else. I honestly don't know what happened.

"I am still here and I am now only concentrating on helping Brondby do as well as they can."
