Mateusz Klich's message on West Brom and Fulham as Leeds United's title race shapes up

Three clubs are pulling clear in the Championship and Leeds United’s Mateusz Klich admits he and his team-mates will watch West Bromwich Albion's Preston North End trip closely.

The Whites are currently top of the league one point ahead of West Brom, who play their game in hand on Monday night. Only a win would return them to first.

Fulham, meanwhile, have strung four wins together after a patchy opening to the season to put themselves third and five points behind United.

Klich, who scored two of Saturday’s four goals over Middlesbrough, accepts it’s looking like a three-horse race.

“Yes, it looks like Fulham are playing very good football. They got [Aleksandar] Mitrovic with 15 goals,” he said when asked if it was a three-horse race.

West Brom, in my opinion, best team in the league and we are always there and we are trying to play our football.

“If you are going to play like today, be scoring goals, it’s going to be alright.”

Preston, who have dipped with two consecutive defeats, host Slaven Bilic’s contenders at Deepdale in a showcase game on Monday night.

Klich admitted he and his team-mates will almost certainly be watching on.

“Yes, probably. It’s going to be a good game to watch. Preston is a strong side as well this season and they play at home,” he said.

“They lost very bad against Hull and they really want to win so let’s see.”
