Mateo Kovacic's celebration and the Chelsea Goalkeepers' Union - Moments missed in Valencia draw

Mateo Kovacic's celebration

Mateo Kovacic's last goal was in January 2017, so when he scored for Chelsea against Valencia in the 2-2 draw it was always going to be intriguing to see what his celebration would be.

The Croatian looked as surprised as anyone for the ball to find the back of the net as he wheeled away to celebrate his strike.

Obviously his idea to put his thumb to his nose and wiggle his fingers must have meant something to somebody, but nobody else really got the joke.

However, the rest of the Chelsea team looked just as happy as the man himself that he found the back of the net.

Goalkeepers Union

Goalkeepers are often known to stick together through thick and thin, even when they don't play for the same team.

Kepa Arrizabalaga had a mixed game, with a stunning save from a penalty, but then question marks over the equalising goal by Daniel Wass.

But there was time for a chat after the game, with a real Goalkeepers Union getting together to have a confab.

Rob Green was at the Mestalla to do radio for the BBC, and after the game he was having a chat with Chelsea's goalkeeping coach Henrique Hilario, Petr Cech and current shotstoppers Willy Caballero and Jamie Cumming.

Tammy Abraham limping out

Tammy Abraham certainly took a nasty knock during the 2-2 draw with Valencia, and it looked very serious when he was stretchered off.

However, Lampard confirmed that the injury wasn't as bad as first thought, with the striker stating the same thing as well.

But it was obvious that, even after the game, Abraham was in a lot of pain as he limped out of the stadium and into the team coach to fly home.

It will take a bit of recovery for the 22-year-old, who might not be back in time for the West Ham clash.

Whistles for Batshuayi

It wasn't quite the dream return for Michy Batshuayi to the Mestalla, with the striker only really having one decent effort on target.

Batshuayi had a very disappointing loan spell last season at Valencia, with the Belgian lasting just six months before heading to Crystal Palace to finish the campaign.

With just one La Liga goal to his name and a Champions League strike during his time there, it wasn't a success at all and the Valencia fans made it clear their feelings.

The whistles rang around
