Mateo Kovacic rested and Reece James back in - Predicted Chelsea team vs Bournemouth

Chelsea are back in Premier League action this afternoon at Stamford Bridge when they take on the struggling Bournemouth.

The Cherries are going through something of an injury crisis right now with at least eight of their regulars struggling to make the game.

However, the Blues are going through a sticky patch in the league right now with three defeats in their last four league matches.

Frank Lampard is going to be hoping for a big performance from his side, but with so many matches over the course of December it could mean some rotations.

One player who has been in decent form for the Blues is Mateo Kovacic, but Lampard might look to give him some minutes off.

That would mean Mason Mount would come back into the starting team in a 4-2-3-1

"I am pleased with what we have in midfield," Lampard said. "We also have Ruben coming back although it is not going to be that soon.

"I think with the schedule we have had, the amounts of games that we have played back-to-back then I think rotation a little bit is for the game and what is in front of us because sometimes you want to change the set up of how we look.

"Also, just for the fatigue factor. to keep people fresh. I will certainly take that into account in midfield."

Reece James has also been in and out of the side, but the right-back could return to their first team, with Cesar Azpilicueta dropping to the bench.

Lampard has urged his team to take their chances more, and they should get plenty of opportunities against Eddie Howe's side this afternoon.

Predicted Chelsea team (4-2-3-1): Kepa; James, Rudiger, Zouma, Emerson; Kante, Jorginho; Willian, Mount, Pulisic; Abraham.
