Matchwinner Ellis Genge brands England critics 'sausages' after Murrayfield win

Super sub Ellis Genge blasted England’s critics after coming off the bench in Scotland to give his team's Six Nations hopes the kiss of life.

England’s 13-6 win was marred by one of Eddie Jones’ backroom staff being struck on the head by an empty plastic bottle.

Team captain Owen Farrell was also subjected to booing whenever he lined up a kick at goal - much to Jones’ fury.

Genge directed his anger at those, like World Cup winner Kyran Bracken, who had called for the sacking of his head coach after his late try won England the Calcutta Cup.

The self-styled Baby Rhino raged: “We had a bump in the road last week and everyone was writing us off, saying we weren’t good enough, that our coach should be sacked and the boys were a different team from the World Cup.

“It's classic, you have a lot of sausages saying things that just come in their head. What are they on about?

“It happens whenever we lose a game. People say we can’t play rugby. I just hope we’ve shut all the critics up.”
