Matchesfashion boss Ulric Jerome leaves retailer

Ulric Jerome, the boss of London-headquartered online fashion retailer Matchesfashion since 2015, has left the business with immediate effect.

Matchesfashion confirmed the departure as it posted a 27% jump in sales to £372 million in the year to January.

It gave no reason as to why Jerome, 41, has left. While at the helm he introduced 90-minute delivery services, opened a Stratford tech studio and launched more international websites.

In 2017 the firm’s founders, husband and wife Ruth and Tom Chapman, sold a majority stake to funds advised by private-equity group Apax Partners.

Gabriele Cipparrone, group board Member, said: “ I would like to thank Ulric for his stewardship of Matchesfashion since 2015. He has been instrumental in building the company into the global, digital, and inspiring organisation that it is today. The team will continue to build on this strong foundation to drive further profitable growth.”

Matchesfashion’s finance chief Fiona Greiner and chief operating officer Tom Athron will carry out chief executive duties until a replacement chief is found.
