Match report: Sutton United 1-1 Notts County

Notts County were left to rue another weekend of missed chances as they were forced to come from behind to snatch a 1-1 draw at Sutton United.

The Magpies were a goal down early in the first half when David Ajiboye produced a terrific cross for Harry Beautyman to squeeze in at the far post.

After a dreadful 25 minutes, Notts then burst into life and should have equalised when Regan Booty saw a shot cleared off the line after a Kristian Dennis effort had rebounded into his path.

That with Kyle Wootton quickly levelling matters after the restart with a wonderful strike from the edge of the box.

Notts continued to create opportunities with Regan Booty forcing a brilliant save from Jamie Butler from distance with the goalkeeper then being required to tip a corner over the bar.

But there was a better chance to come when Booty delivered an inch-perfect cross for Kristian Dennis who, from four yards out, saw Butler tip his effort over the bar.

You wondered whether Notts would suffer from missing some great chances but Notts defended expertly to take a point from a game they really should have won.
