Match of the Day running order: When each game is on tonight

The Premier League is back and so is Match of the Day.

The BBC’s long running football highlights show returns tonight, with all the action from the opening two days of the Premier League.

Newcastle United fans will have to wait for Sunday night's Match of the Day 2, of course, following their opener against Arsenal.

The place to be tonight is BBC One at 10:30pm as top sides including Liverpool and Manchester City will be just two of the teams shown and analysed on the programme.

Liverpool kicked off the new season with a 4-1 win over new boys Norwich City on Friday night, before reigning Premier League champions Manchester City saw off West Ham 5-0 at lunchtime today.

And City's game will be the first shown this evening, followed by Aston Villa's trip to Tottenham.

Highlights from Watford v Brighton will then follow the action from White Hart Lane, before Burnley v Southampton is up next.

The show then concludes with Sheffield United's trip to Bournemouth, Crystal Palace's draw with Everton, and Liverpool's thrashing of Norwich.

Match of the Day running order:

West Ham v Manchester City

Tottenham v Aston Villa

Watford v Brighton

Burnley v Southampton

Bournemouth v Sheffield United

Crystal Palace v Everton

Liverpool v Norwich
