Match of the Day running order revealed: Newcastle v Brighton on second last

Manchester City grabbed all the headlines on another entertaining day of Premier League action as they smashed Watford 8-0.

The Premier League champions bounced back from last weekend’s shock defeat to Norwich by spanking the Hornets at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side lead 5-0 within 18 minutes but were one goal short of equalling Manchester United’s 9-0 record win over Ipswich Town.

That cut Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table down to two points, ahead of the Reds’ trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Sunday.

Sheffield United upset the odds at Goodison Park with a 2-0 win against Everton that has cranked up the pressure on Marco Silva.

The Toffees have shipped five goals in their last two fixtures and this home defeat has sparked unrest in the Evertonian fan base.

Leicester City shocked Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s early kick-off, whilst Burnley beat Norwich and Newcastle United drew with Brighton.

All the goals and the action can be seen on Match of the Day this evening at 22:30 on BBC One, which is then repeated on Sunday morning, and Gary Lineker has revealed the running order for this week’s show.

Match of the Day running order

Manchester City 8-0 Watford

Leicester City 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Everton 0-2 Sheffield United

Burnley 2-0 Norwich City

Newcastle 0-0 Brighton

Southampton 1-3 Bournemouth
