Match of the Day running order revealed as Norwich take centre stage ahead of Spurs and Chelsea

It has been quite the day of football in the Premier League.

Three of our London clubs were in action on Saturday, with two of them up against one another.

But the biggest story of the day came in the late kick-off, where Norwich City took on champions Manchester City.

The Canaries produced a memorable performance to beat Pep Guardiola's City side 3-2 in an incredible match.

And, understandably, that clash takes centre stage on highlights show Match of the Day.

That means that the thrilling encounter between Wolves and Chelsea, which the Blues won 5-2, is pushed back to second on the bill, with Liverpool's comeback win over Newcastle in the early kick-off third up.

Tottenham's one-sided victory over Crystal Palace is fourth up, fitting for the number of goals Spurs scored, with Manchester United's narrow win over Leicester City next up.

Sheffield United's defeat to Southampton and Brighton's draw with Burnley end the show.

Host Gary Lineker said: "It’s a belter. Bit late due to the Proms thingy, but definitely worth staying up for."

Match of the Day is on BBC One at 10.45pm.

Running order:

Norwich 3-2 Man City

Wolves 2-5 Chelsea

Liverpool 3-1 Newcastle

Tottenham 4-0 Crystal Palace

Manchester United 1-0 Leicester

Sheffield United 0-1 Southampton

Brighton 1-1 Burnley
