Match of the Day running order confirmed with Manchester City fans in for long wait

Manchester City fans are in for a late night if they are to watch highlights of Saturday’s game against Southampton on Match of the Day.

Pep Guardiola’s side drew 0-0 as they struggled to overcome a resolute Saints team at the Etihad Stadium.

The game wasn’t without controversy, however. Phil Foden thought he scored a late winner but saw VAR chalk the goal off the board.

Earlier on in the match, Kyle Walker was sent off and conceded a penalty as a result, only for VAR to reverse the decision as the defender continued the match.

MOTD presenter Gary Lineker took to Twitter to reveal the running order of Saturday night’s show, which is on BBC One from 10.30pm BST.

MOTD order :

Liverpool – Crystal Palace

Norwich – Watford

Aston Villa – Everton

Wolverhampton – Brentford

Burnley – Arsenal

Manchester City – Southampton

Newcastle United – Leeds United

It’s not often that City are so low on the Premier League’s headline highlight show but with the game finishing scoreless, it’s hard to argue with where it is placed on the card.
