Match of the Day running order confirmed as Chelsea, Spurs and Crystal Palace feature

Gary Lineker has revealed the running order for tonight’s episode of Match of the Day, which offers plenty of goals.

The stand-out fixture came from the late kick-off in the north west, where Manchester City hosted neighbours Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium - and it was the visitors that came away with bragging rights.

Meanwhile on the south coast, Liverpool ensured they would sit top of the table for Christmas after putting Bournemouth to the sword - with Mohamed Salah back amongst the goals.

Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham bounced back from a midweek defeat to United by hitting five past Burnley - including a sensational effort from Son Heung-Min that can be seen as a contender for goal of the season.

In the early kick-off, managerless Everton stunned Chelsea in a 3-1 victory, while Watford, in front of new boss Nigel Pearson, brought an end to their winless streak with a draw against Crystal Palace.

All of the action can be watched on the latest episode of Match of the Day, which will be live on BBC One at 22:30 - before being repeated at 07:40 on Sunday morning.

Match of the Day running order

Man City 1-2 Manchester United

Everton 3-1 Chelsea

Tottenham 5-0 Burnley

Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool

Watford 0-0 Crystal Palace
