Match of the Day running order confirmed - and it's fantastic news for Chelsea supporters

Match of the Day is back on our screens this evening and the latest show is filled with goals and controversial incidents.

With just a few months remaining in the Premier League season, every match has a significant impact at both ends of the table but, once again, it was VAR that stole the headlines.

Major incidents in Chelsea vs Tottenham, Burnley vs Bournemouth and Leicester City vs Manchester City will be among the talking points, with the controversial technology living up to it’s billing once again.

Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham: Frank Lampard post-match press conference

Unsurprisingly, the opening match of the evening, as revealed by Gary Lineker live on Twitter, is the London derby between Chelsea and Spurs, followed by Manchester City’s trip to Leicester.

Burnley against Bournemouth is next up, perhaps one you wouldn’t expect to be shown so early, but the drama witnessed at Turf Moor is certainly worth keeping tabs on.

The show is rounded off by Southampton vs Aston Villa, Crystal Palace vs Newcastle and Sheffield United vs Brighton.

Match of the Day is live on BBC One at 22:20, with the show then repeated at 07:40 on Sunday morning.

Running order

Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham

Leicester 0-1 Man City

Burnley 3-0 Bournemouth

Southampton 2-0 Aston Villa
