Match of the Day pundits hail three Leeds United players after hammering of West Brom

Leeds United stars Stuart Dallas, Raphinha and Luke Ayling have all landed significant praise from the Match of the Day pundits after the brilliant 5-0 win at West Brom.

The Whites suffered a 6-2 hammering at Manchester United earlier this month but have responded with back to back clean sheets in victories over Burnley and the Baggies.

Leeds took the lead early on thanks to Romaine Sawyers' own goal, before Ezgjan Alioski smashed home a wonderful effort, Jack Harrison made it 3-0 and Rodrigo Moreno scored the fourth of the night.  The Whites weren't done as Raphinha finished off a wonderful move by finding the back of the net with a terrific strike in the second half.

Some superb performances everywhere for Leeds United

Match of the Day pundits Micah Richards and Ian Wright subsequently praised Raphinha last night alongside his teammates Dallas and Ayling.

Richards told the BBC: “Leeds were sensational. I’ve been talking about Leeds for so long now and they’re just all-action. They’re a joy to watch, and I love watching them. The team is playing with such confidence. Leeds’ tactics today were spot on, Bielsa deserves a lot of credit.

“This is a man I really love, Dallas, he can play centre midfield, right-back, left-back, he always drives into positions. Look at the run of Raphinha; Sawyers goes with him and he creates the space for a wonder goal. It’s got to be a contender for goal of the season. What a signing he’s been, what a signing.”

Wright added: “They’re a joy to behold. Raphinha from Rennes for £17m; you think to yourself, with some of the wingers in this league costing a little bit more than him and aren’t doing half of the things that he’s doing.

"Ayling today was absolutely fantastic for Leeds as well. I think Leeds will be within touching distance of European places, but I just want them to get to the 40-point mark, so then they can really relax and entertain."
