Leeds United answered their critics in style on Wednesday night as they got back to winning ways in emphatic fashion.
Marcelo Bielsa's men claimed a 5-2 victory over Newcastle United at Elland Road as they bounced back from successive Premier League defeats.
Leeds fell behind to a Jeff Hendrick goal but Patrick Bamford headed the home side level.
Rodrigo then put the Whites in front, only for Ciaran Clark to equalise for Newcastle in the 65th minute.
It remained 2-2 with less than 15 minutes to go but goals from Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison sealed the three points for Leeds.
Bielsa's side made a highly promising start to life back in the top flight following their promotion from the Championship.
However, a couple of setbacks saw them slip down the table and prompted some pundits to suggest they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
But former Liverpool and Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy reckons there is no chance of that happening based on the performance against Newcastle.
“I love watching them (Leeds)," said Murphy on Match of the Day. "It was a great performance in the fact that they never settled for anything less in the game.
"At one point, it was 2-2 with 15 minutes to go, the amount of men they had forward into the box. Not even a thought of what’s behind them.
"(That is) three times this season where they’ve had 25 or more shots, which is unbelievable and it shows the philosophy under Bielsa.
"When they’re playing like that, with the energy and the confidence, they are never gonna be in a relegation battle.”
Leeds are 13th in the table after 13 games, with 17 points on the board.
That puts them eight points clear of the relegation zone - although third-from-bottom Burnley have two games in hand.
