Match of the Day pundit explains why Leeds United stats were deceiving in dismantling of Burnley

Match of the Day pundit Leon Osman says Burnley had no chance of dealing with Leeds United while they were in such a 'creative' and 'inventive' mood.

It took the Whites around 44 minutes to make their mark at Turf Moor.

But from the moment Mateusz Klich's curling strike found the bottom corner, it was pretty much one-way traffic as Jack Harrison and substitute Rodrigo (2) rubber-stamped a resounding 4-0 verdict.

Harrison needed an element of fortune to turn home his eighth goal of the Premier League season, diverting Ezgjan Alioski's shot from outside the area beyond Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

However, the other three strikes were trademark Leeds in the build-up and execution - with Harrison laying on two eye-catching assists for Spanish teammate Rodrigo.

Burnley are without a win at their Turf Moor base since January, but so rarely are Sean Dyche's team beaten by such a landslide verdict, Osman says all credit much go to Marcelo Bielsa and his squad.

Speaking in his role as a MOTD pundit, Osman said: "It just shows sometimes that stats can be deceiving, because the quality of Leeds' chances and the quality of Leeds' passing was way above what Burnley offered. You see that right from early in the game. You see the intent, they are always facing in behind the goal.

"Then you have got that desire, even deep in their own half. Bamford gets a bump, he's back on his feet and Leeds are then suddenly in behind. It's the desire to get in there. Look at their forward runners. It's so difficult for a Burnley back four to mark when people are in those positions.

"They have to drop off. Klich gets the opportunity and with that kind of quality, he scores. There were free-flowing moves, they were one touch, they were inventive and they were creative. The pass appreciation was wonderful and that man, Harrison, had a terrific game."
