Matalan shoppers were impressed after spotting a "gorgeous" £40 winter coat online.

Like many retailers, Matalan ensures shoppers are kept in the loop on all its newest stock and product launches via social media, with a recent post causing a stir online.

Taking to Instagram, the popular store shared a photo of its sage long quilted coat.
The coat, which costs £40, comes in a long length with a padded, quilted texture. It also features a hood, a popper front fastening and front pockets.
Captioning the image of the coat, Matalan simply penned: "Coat season...bring it on! Our sage long quilted coat is available to shop online."
It proved popular among the retailer's 773k followers, racking up more than 300 likes in the first half hour it was posted to the hit social media platform.
