Mat Ryan has already given his verdict on Arsenal transfer as Celtic eye swoop for Brighton man

Mat Ryan is a man in demand this summer, amid links with both Arsenal and Celtic.

The Australian goalkeeper joined the Gunners on a loan deal from Brighton in January as deputy for Bernd Leno after summer signing Alex Runarsson failed to impress the Spaniard.

Ryan played a total of three games for the north London side before returning to parent club Brighton this month and the Gunners are reportedly keen to bring him back on a permanent basis this summer.

However, according to Sky Sports, the Scottish side are considering targeting Ryan with their new manager Ange Postecoglou eager to work with him again after their time together with the Australia national side.

The report claims that there are yet to be any formal discussions between Ryan and the Glasgow outfit but they remain interested, alongside clubs in England, Spain and France.

However, the 29-year-old, who is a self-proclaimed Arsenal fan, has previously told Fox Sports that he would love to return to the Emirates Stadium.

"I’ve got full faith in the team around me – my agent, family, friends – that we’re going to get a couple of options hopefully and go about making what’s going to be the best decision for me,” he said.

“Hopefully, Arsenal becomes one of those options as well that we can look at and see what can happen there, but at the minute it’s still quite early. The season’s just finished.

“I’m taking it day by day and seeing where my journey takes me.”
