Ryder Cup star Rory McIlroy’s relationship timeline with wife Erica Stoll following year of divorce drama

Rory McIlroy made his way to Bethpage Black in New York, with The Ryder Cup 2025 underway this weekend.

The Northern Irish golfing star is representing Europe at the event on Long Island this year, and he teamed up with English golfer Tommy Fleetwood on Friday. The duo won a huge session this morning against Collin Morikawa and Harris English, who are representing Team USA.

Speaking to the press the night before the Ryder Cup began, McIlroy described how special America was to him, calling it “the best country in the world.” Although he’s living in the UK to establish a base in Surrey, his wife and daughter are American.

“I am unbelievably grateful and lucky that I got to come to America early on. I think success is celebrated here. I think there's a wonderful sense of work ethic,” the athlete, who lived in Jupiter, Florida, for many years, said. “My wife is American. My daughter is American. I have a lot of affinity towards this country, and I think everyone that lives here should have that same affinity because it is, it is a wonderful place.”
