Masters: Weather could be a major factor this weekend

Players enjoyed great scoring conditions and relatively low winds Thursday at The Masters, but the weather is set to take a turn for the worse at Augusta National Golf Club.

Rain tapered off in the morning hours at Augusta National on Friday, and there is a 30 percent chance of precipitation throughout the day, according to Accuweather. Winds will increase to a high of 10 mph at 2:00 p.m. ET – right when Tiger Woods is scheduled to tee off in the second round.

The forecast for Saturday includes the potential for a thunderstorm in the afternoon, with the chance of precipitation spiking to 51 percent at 1:00 p.m.

Severe thunderstorms could impact a large swath of Mississippi and Georgia on Sunday – which could make for delays in the final round of The Masters.
