Masters: This disastrous eagle putt into the water shows how difficult the Augusta greens are

Putting at a major championship is never going to be easy, but the ultra-fast greens at Augusta National Golf Club can be some of the most difficult that the world’s best golfers will face all season long.

In Thursday’s first round, Austrian golfer Bernd Wiesberger did everything right at the famous par-5 15th hole to set himself up for an eagle putt – and a chance to take home one of The Masters’ coveted crystal goblets – but walked off the green with an infuriating bogey.

Wiesberger missed his putt below the hole and hit it a touch too hard – and it continued to slip off the green entirely and roll down into the pond. Unbelievable.
