Masters 2021 prize money: How much winning golfer will earn

The Masters is into its final stretch ahead of Sunday's final round at Augusta National.

Dustin Johnson came into the tournament as defending champion after picking up his first Green Jacket in November.

The Masters, usually hosted in the spring, had to be played later in the year due to the pandemic and the favourable conditions allowed the American to break several records.

Now back in its usual April slot, Augusta National is once again bearing its teeth proving how tough a test it can be.

Justin Rose registered a healthy lead after the first round, carding a 65 to give himself a four-shot lead.

He retained the lead going into the third round as the chasing pack closed in.

Saturday's play was temporarily halted as a storm brewed at Augusta, but it soon passed.

Ahead of Sunday's final round though the likes of Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama, Will Zalatoris and Corey Conners had all played their way into contention.

Last year Johnson pocketed just over $2m and that again will be the prize money on offer for the winner.

Second place will earn more than they did last year thanks to a $200,000 increase.

In total $11.5m will be on offer in prize money, once again underlining the riches on offer in the sport of golf.

Last year the Masters was the second most lucrative Major behind the US Open, which was won by Bryson DeChambeau.

Here are the figures on offer to the top 10 ahead of today's final round.

  • 1st $2,070,000
  • 2nd $1,242,000
  • 3rd $782,000
  • 4th $552,000
  • 5th $460,000
  • 6th $414,000
  • 7th $385,250
  • 8th $356,500
  • 9th $333,500
  • 10th $310,500
