Tottenham completed one bit of business on European transfer deadline day.
The transfer windows finally closed in each of the other four big European leagues on Monday, with one player leaving Spurs.
Marcus Edwards was once dubbed the "mini Messi" by Mauricio Pochettino, but for one reason and another it has not worked out for him at Spurs.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has failed to live up to that big billing from Pochettino, and had loan moves with Norwich City and Dutch side Excelsior in the last two seasons.
Now, he has made the permanent move to Vitoria in Portugal, bringing to an end his association with Tottenham.
The statement from Spurs over his transfer was short, as is often the case with departing players, with th club saying: "We wish Marcus all the best for the future."
But the club Edwards has arrived at have a connection with Tottenham's fierce rivals Arsenal, and that was not lost on a number of supporters on social media.
Vitoria are in the Europa League this season and were put in the same group as Arsenal when the draw was made at the end of last week.
The Gunners and their Portuguese counterparts go head-to-head in games at the end of October and start of November, with a select bunch of Spurs supporters expecting big things from Edwards when the two clubs meet on matchday three and four.
Arsenal will be expecting to beat Vitoria, but in Edwards they may come up against a more determined opponent.
