Masterchef fans' support Nottinghamshire's Liam Rogers as he heads into semi-final

Fans of the popular cooking show Masterchef have been sharing their support for Nottingham contestant Liam Rogers.

Chef Rogers took one step closer to victory as he secured his place in MasterChef: The Professionals semi-final.

The 25-year-old made a strong impression on the judges in the first heat, who said he stood out and praised his fantastic attitude, good technique and lovely flavours.

At the quarter-final stages Liam chose to make a roast fillet of mackerel, mackerel tartare, pickled beetroot and horseradish cream.

During the quarter-final round, MasterChef UK's Twitter page posted "Looks like our Guest Judges were eating their words as much as Liam's amazing mackerel dish."

Liam, from Warrington, started working at Nottingham's two Michelin-starred Restaurant Sat Bains as senior chef de partie three years ago.

Now, fans of the show have been posting their support for the cook on social media.

Mick Muldoon, said: "This guy Liam Rogers from Sat Bains is going to stroll MasterChefUK Professionals."

One NottinghamshireLive Facebook followers, named Paul Lang Standall, wrote: "Superb tonight."

Another viewer, Claire McIlvenna, said: "I know a genius when I see one. Amazing."

One individual, with the Twitter handle Jo not Warwick, wrote: "Brilliant cookery from Liam tonight."

Cheeky Celebs Twitter page commented: "Go Liam Rogers. Surely the hottest MasterChefProfessionals contestant of all time.. Plus pretty good in the kitchen."

The next episode of the series will be broadcast at 7.30pm on Monday, November 29.

The competition was filmed earlier this year and Liam is sworn to secrecy about how far he goes.

Let's hope that Liam can continue to dazzle the judges as he heads into the semi-finals.
