MasterChef Australia 2026 has yet to kick off its culinary competition festivities. However, it’s already bringing in the heat after it was announced that it will be welcoming Meghan Markle as a celebrity guest judge. How exciting!
Ahead of its premiere on Sunday, April 19, Network 10 announced that the Duchess of Sussex will be stopping by the iconic MasterChef kitchen to help our judges, Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli, mentor our new batch of top home cooks.
And if you’re wondering where Andy Allen is, don’t fret. The fan-favourite is currently on maternity leave alongside his wife, Alexandra Allen!
The Duchess’ reality TV cameo is a part of her first Australian visit since 2018, and considering her recent projects — such as her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan and her line of food products, As Ever By Meghan, Duchess of Sussex — it makes sense as to why she would jump into the MasterChef Australia universe.
This isn’t the first time a royal has stopped by the MasterChef Australia kitchen. In 2018, for the show’s 10th season, then-Prince Charles made a surprise cameo. However, he refused to eat anything.
Alongside Charles and Meghan, Aussie royalty Robert Irwin and Jimmy Barnes will be heading into the kitchen in this year’s season of MasterChef Australia.
MasterChef Australia 2026 premieres Sunday, April 19 on Channel 10 and 10Play.
