Former Leeds United forward Jermaine Beckford believes a huge weight has been lifted after his old side secured their return to the Premier League.
Marcelo Bielsa's side were confirmed as champions of the Championship without kicking a ball on Saturday afternoon after Brentford lost at Stoke City.
While their promotion back to the Premier League came the evening before when West Bromwich Albion fell to defeat at Huddersfield Town.
The Whites have been forced to wait for 16 years to bring an end to a lengthy period of turmoil, chaos and near misses.
"The celebration have been absolutely electric. A massive weight has been lifted,” Beckford told Sky Sports before Leeds’ game with Derby County.
"This is something that means a lot to me (his tie).
"It's an amazing chance for all of those boys for them to find themselves in a situation to get prompted with this great club."
While Sky Sports pundit Keith Andrews added on the promotion:"Without a shadow of a doubt it's an amazing achievement, especially when you take last season into consideration.
"I've been in a losing position in play-offs and it's difficult to recover.
"To recover with very few additions has been fantastic."
