Residents of a west Dublin village were left stunned when a massive swarm of bees took up residence outside a local shop.
Thousands of bees landed in Chapelizod on Saturday afternoon having travelled from a nearby industrial estate.
One shocked local told Dublin Live that people were forced to run for cover as the bees landed.
She said: "We saw them swarming like a cloud through the Industrial Estate a couple of hours earlier and ran for cover.
"Apparently, they are moving and taking a rest as the queen gets tired flying so they need to stop off for breaks."
Pest control experts were later called to the village and managed to trap most of the bees.
But residents have reported that there is still a small bunch loitering in the village.
Here's hoping they buzz off soon.
