Two men have been arrested after intelligence-led officers carried out a massive sting which saw 22kg of heroin worth a value of €3 million seized in west Dublin.
Revenue officers made the huge swoop with the help of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) in the Dublin 15 area on Wednesday, 5 August.
The pair, aged 31 and 41, were arrested and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
A spokeswoman for Revenue said that the collaboration between both agencies as well as international colleagues led to the significant and successful outcome of the operation.
She added: "This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting the importation of illegal drugs.
