'Massive respect!' - Tottenham fans love what Serge Aurier has done against Newcastle

Jose Mourinho's team selection for tonight's Premier League clash against Newcastle United has prompted a big reaction from Tottenham Hotspur fans.

The Lilywhites are back in action for the first time since the 2-1 win over bitter rivals Arsenal in the north London derby at the weekend - a result which boosted their hopes of sealing a place in the Europa League for next season.

With just three days in between games, the Spurs head coach had been expected to rotate his squad for the trip to Tyneside.

However, Mourinho has sprung somewhat of a surprise by naming an unchanged side.

Whether this means Spurs will line-up in a 4-4-2 system remains to be seen as it could easily be a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation selected by the Portuguese tactician.

Davinson Sanchez keeps his place in the back four as he partners the match-winner against the Gunners in Toby Alderweireld as the duo look to keep a clean sheet.

Meanwhile, the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min provide the attacking threat alongside Harry Kane who goes in search of his 200th goal for the club.

Much of the reaction to the confirmed line-up has centered around the inclusion of Serge Aurier. The Ivory Coast international suffered the heartbreaking news that his brother passed away in the early hours on Monday morning.

It would have been understandable if the right-back had asked not to play, but him making himself available has earned the respect of many Spurs fans.

Take a look at what has been said on Twitter...

What Jose Mourinho has said

"A football match is a football match. Everybody wants to win it. I think Southampton was a great example of that. They played so well, they fought for a result that they don’t need to reach any objective but the nature of the game is you always try to win matches.

"So sometimes it's even worse because sometimes there’s no tension. People are relaxed, they don’t feel any kind of pressure, sometimes they get even better performances.

"So in Newcastle and Palace I look at them and I see two teams with quality, two teams with the most experienced managers in the Premier League and I see two very difficult matches for us."
