A man has been arrested after armed police swooped in on Manchester Arndale shopping centre.
Staff and members of the public were evacuated following reports of a man with a knife.
Witnesses at the scene reported armed police in attendance and video footage shows paramedics were also there reports Manchester Evening News .
North West Ambulance Service confirmed crews were called to the scene, however no injuries have been reported.
A statement from Greater Manchester Police said: Police remain in attendance at Manchester Arndale Centre following reports of a man with a knife.
"Officers attended and a man has been arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
"There are no reported injuries.
"There is not believed to be any wider threat to the community."
